Seed Production Specialist

Location De Kwakel and Zeeland

The seed production department is responsible for commissioning, monitoring, delivering and administratively managing production of flower and/or vegetable seed (including stock seed) that comply to market standards.

Our Seed Production Specialist is responsible for commissioning seed production of flower and/or vegetable seeds in support of the production plans.

 

Tasks

As seed  production specialist you will plan the production of required seeds. This means assigning productions to suppliers/growers, monitoring progress, verifying the quality and advices on cultivation and Phyto sanitary requirements and handling transport methods.

Your tasks also include administrating production orders in the logistics system, allocating stock seed and coordinating dispatch of it to suppliers/growers, maintaining the production administration and evaluating the suppliers/growers and their production.

You will visit producers regularly to perform seed growing inspections, negotiate on prices/conditions and drawing up of production agreements, represent Takii Europe at meetings and conferences related to seed production and participate in department meetings.

This position will also require frequent (inter-)national travel.

 

Requirements

In addition to a targeted education (HBO/WO), it is most important that you bring practical experience suited to this position. This experience can come from previous work at a seed  company, quality/inspections, research or plant breeding. You are a team player but can also work well on your own. You won’t hesitate to ask for information when needed but you are also very adept at tracking down information on your own. You have an eye for details and also know how to use your creativity to come up with suitable solutions. You have excellent command of the Dutch and English language and you like travelling, both nationally and internationally. You are openminded, naturally curious, eager to learn and used to working hands-on. You are assertive and a self-starter.
Your strong communication skills enable you to speak easily with colleagues, suppliers and growers
